Found him(?) crying outside my house on Tuesday. I found him some food at a CVS down the street, and while I was feeding him he darted into the house. I eventually relocated him to the bathroom until he can use a litter box consistently (he's used it once at least). He's still pretty scared if I move suddenly, but he'll go up to my hand and play with it, and if I have him in my lap he doesn't struggle to leave. I'll be meeting some friends over the weekend that own cats, so they'll give me toys and stuff that I haven't been able to get yet for him.

I've never taken care of a cat longer than a couple days, so any tips are appreciated. Not even sure I can keep him long-term, I live with my mother who's out of the country until the end of the month, and I don't think she's ever lived with a cat either. That being said, a work colleague is down to take him off my hands if I'm unable to keep him, so he'll have a home no matter what.

Take the cat to a vet just to be on the safe side.

Appreciate the advice so far - I was waiting until I could get a carrier before I take him for vaccinations, but I have a care package I can pick up for him that should include shots. He seems pretty young, not sure whens the best time to have him neutered.

Also not entirely sure hes a boy -I think I saw some berries but Ive been wrong about this before. Tentatively named him Piccolo since I found him on May 9th, but Im gonna need a back-up name if hes actually a lady.
