Some levels break flying over them through pipes. It also can't be done in castles, fortresses and ghost houses all of which are generally the most popular. Yoshi also can't be used in those. It doesn't bother me buy yeah.

Quick update: I think Ill play SML2 after I beat Pokmon Trading Card Game.

After that Ill probably pause this project for a while but continually work on adding physical copies of all the remaining mainline games I lack which I should be able to do over time. I think SML2 marks a good temporary stopping point since its the last title before the series first foray into 3D. Through this project I beat SMB2 and SMW for the first time, and it will also be my first time beating SML2.

I originally envisioned this thread as a place for ongoing Mario talk, not just my series project, but theres not really a need/appetite for a Mario general. So consider me beating SML2 the successful completion of part 1 of this project, and I will be back for part 2 once I have secured access to all the games.

Im missing all four NSMB games, Galaxy 2, and 3D Land. I also am undecided on including Super Mario Maker as a mainline game although the Mario wiki does, so Ill have to make a decision there since I dont even have a Wii U. If I do include the Maker games, Ive already got SMM2 on hand. And of course, Wonder is coming out in a couple months!

Super Mario Maker has some short story mode at least.

It would have been beautiful to end up at this being done with the release of Wonder.

That was my original goal but then I realized I didnt have the funds to do it. My wife has been between jobs for a few months and shes back now but we are getting a pool. So expensive.

I had a hunch but the folks on Gamefaqs are following my series playthrough! wouldnt be enough to convince her we should drop hundreds on a bunch of Mario games and a Wii U lol.

With this said, if anyone trusting soul has the games and is willing to let me, little more than an internet stranger, borrow them to play and mail them back to you, I will accept the challenge!

But yeah more likely I am gonna start this back in the new year.

I would but they're in Japanese and the shipping costs might be more expensive than just buying them lol

Ha yeah, and I appreciate that! Ctes is also way too far. Nor would I expect someone to go to such lengths even if you lived 30 minutes away. I knew I had nearly every game through Galaxy 2 but when I started this project it never occurred to me how many games overall I was missing.

That is part of why I moved on to the NSO project. No reason to rush through SML2, 64 and Sunshine when I had no idea when Id be able to start getting the remaining games.

Two of those will be played throughout the NSO one. You have the GBA remakes there as well and can actually include SMW2 because why not.

Yeah I look forward to playing SMW2. Ive barely played it.

If I had more of the games Id go full speed ahead but starting with NSMB for DS I only have Galaxy, Odyssey, Maker 2, and 3D World.
