How do they justify being twice your average movie ticket price just to rent and watch on a TV?

I'm sure there are fools that will do it instead of paying the extra $5 to own it. Even that's too much.

I still think it's weird to put the rental price at $20 when the price to buy it is $25. Not sure what the point of that is. I could be wrong, but I feel like people who go to Amazon to make a purchase in order to watch the movie would rather just pay the extra $5 to be able to watch it any time in the future.

But you aren't going to the movies. It's a different experience that you pay a premium for. Not many people at home have 70' wide screens, 18" subwoofers and 15k watts of speakers.

Because it's cheaper for 2-3 families to get together at someone's house, rent it at home and sit 6-8 kids in front of the TV with some dollar store popcorn and candy, rather than bring them all to the movies at $12-15 a pop and another $50-60 in movie theatre popcorn and candy.

Well this is a social board on a video game forum. I wouldn't expect tons of users to be surrounded by kids and a bunch of other families. If I had kids I'd be like we're not paying $25 to watch that and put on Disney+.

Not everyone wants to have a party every time they want tk watch a movie Some just want to have a family night Plus, $25 is more than most movies cost to buy And youre just renting it

No. You can go to the theatre and pay $12-$25 per person.

The movie is still in the theatre, so the luxury of seeing it at home is just that, a luxury.

And luxuries come at a premium.

Not just amazon, also redbox, apple tv, and youtube.

What the fuck? That's more than an IMAX ticket. I mean I have a nice home theater and all but fuck if I'm paying $25 to rent anything. I'm not sitting in front of a 60 foot tall screen.

I guess it depends on the person. I saw it in the theatre with 6 other people, and, because I'm an all around good guy, paid for everyone's tickets. Granted 2 were my kids and the others were my nephews and their girlfriends.

If I knew that 2 weeks later I could've just invited them over any watched it on my 70" TV in my living room, I would've done that.

Eh, I bought it on my Google TV for $30, which is definitely the better option than "renting" it.
