However that doesn't mean we should make it easier for people to kill as many people as possible as easy as possible. We should make it harder for people to kill, especially in large numbers.

We already ban murder, so I don't get the point of the stupid argument at all.

Guns are the most popular killing instrument and capable of far more death and destruction than a knife or bare hands. They also literally exist to kill. Those are indisputable facts. I'm not saying whether or not they should be fully outlawed.

Interesting how people need external tools to perform certain tasks more efficiently, and if you took those tools away they could not perform those tasks nearly as well.

I've watched the experiment happen. I figured there'd be at least one person who would push someone into a train to save its passengers but it didn't happen. It also wasn't the biggest group of people, but enough to prove the obvious point.

The overall amount of guns hasn't been the cause of the rising issues in America for sure. If you could make all guns poof away, that'd obviously stop all existing gun issues, but without that magic ability we need to somehow focus on the mental health aspect by fixing our horrible healthcare system.

Maybe we do something to lessen murders (gun control) while in the larger process of some noble goal like fixing the healthcare system and curing mental illness forever.

Guns allow people to kill more people quicker with greater efficiency and have the least amount of regulation compared to other means. The gymnastics gun owners go through defending high capacity rounds and assault style weapons is absolute bonkers.

It's the definition of a thought terminating cliche. It provides something to argue about instead of the actual role of guns in our society and it lets pro-gun people and fanatics alike think they have some type of gotcha.

Guns objectively increase deaths and injuries beyond what would have happened in their absence, both for the gun owner and the people around them. In that sense, guns kill people.

If they didn't have access to a gun they'd still use a knife, a hammer, a pencil, etc, etc, etc.

As everyone is well aware of the great pencil murder massacre of 1912, where 47 people were ruthlessly slain with 3 no. 2 pencils in a matter of minutes! :(

I saw a story recently about a certain brand of gun having a problem with spontaneously firing. So in this case, it is completely true that guns can kill people without human intervention.
