Robberies generally happen when the robbers believe the victims are away. No burglar wants to burgle a house with people in it. Now, muggings, those do happen on the street, but in the US they generally happen at the threat of being at gunpoint, so yeah, good for you that you're carrying. Think you can draw, arm and fire before the guy pushing what is ostensibly a gun into your back can pull the trigger?
