Some group apparently paid some homeless people to pose as veterans so they could make up a story about how veterans are being displaced from a hotel to make room for migrants. Fox News ran with the story (of course), and they actually did a retraction.

I guess they don't want yet another lawsuit on their hands

Old habits die hard.

All this shows is that they don't properly vet their stories and shouldn't be trusted with anything they show. But then again their viewerbase isn't that smart.

Hannity ran with the story the other day, I wonder if he made a retraction too or if fox news viewers are supposed to know even if they only watch some programming.

I was going to point out something like this.

More of a "What is the general viewer difference/demographic difference between the show they aired it on vs the show they retracted on?" Because it would kind of be like Tucker goin off then Fox and Friends retracting.

Unless they kept airing the retraction for a similar amount of time as they ran with the story, the retraction isn't much of a retraction.

It's just done to cover their ass. A real retraction would include that they suspected/knew it was fake to begin with and ran it anyway.

When did they air the retraction? On their prime time news show? Or at 3 in the morning when no one is watching?

Her show apparently airs at 10pm. Probably safe to say they won't be retracting the story enough to repair the damage they caused
