It begins. Good.

And the bread-and-butter of it all, I think, is this:

Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the DOJ's Civil Rights Division added that the right to consider your health and medically approved treatment options with family and doctors "is a right that everyone should have."

If we get the ability to have health decisions put back in the hands of patients and doctors, we blow the doors off all the anti-choice, pro-birth legislation that got passed in the wake of Dobbs.

Isn't that the same one that couldn't clearly define "gender-affirming care" so technically could ban birth control, menstrual products, and other shit cis people would use? Or was that a different clown state?

Boom! That's right, this is all happening! You cannot change the channel now!
You know me, I'm a big fan of subtlety. But that's downright cryptic.

I'm pretty sure all the states passing this garbage legislation don't actually know what they're talking about

Roe vs Wade was overturned, what a dumb comment.

Roe, if I remember, was decided on First Amendment grounds. It was about penumbral rights to privacy, and not something explicitly mentioned in the First Amendment's text.

Flipping the table on the explicit text of the 14th would crater any reputation or legitimacy the court had left. It would be open season to either pack it until it's not recognizable, or dissolve and remake it so that it comports to the Constitution again.

Whole new ball game to say, "Well, ackshually, it doesn't say that," like they did to Roe in Dobbs, and just flat out countermanding the 14th.

The DOJ civil rights division, huh? Nice.

One of our users on the forum works in that division. Very nice.
