What do you think of child labor in the us?

The GOP are pushing for loosening child labor laws across the country.

https://www.epi.org/publication/child-labor-laws-under-attack/

Companies in the US have recently been fined for having immigrant children in their workforce.

CE is this a good or bad trend?

Parents can send their children to work and marry them off to their rapists.

But they can't let them take out a library book with a gay character in it.

That's modern Republicanism.

3 users think child labor is a good idea.

It would be interesting to hear what age range and types of jobs they are thinking of.

Bad, obviously.

Can't wait for 10 years from now once it's been normalized and we're arguing for higher min wage and they use the same narrative about high schoolers they use now.

"These were jobs meant for 9 year olds! You don't deserve $7.51!"

We're up to five users who think it is a good trend, but zero posts on why it is a good trend.

I think it's gross. It's fine for 16-18 year olds to get a part time job over the summer. But not younger than that. Let kids enjoy being kids.

I think it's ridiculous. It's only poorer families that'll have to do it. And that reeks of not giving people a chance to better themselves because they get caught in a cycle of low wage even earlier.

That's a feature, not a bug.

Really bad. Makes perfect sense that it's the Republicans end game. It solves their education and immigration issues at the same time.

It will also continue the trend of people not having children because it's too expensive.

7 users are for child labor, but won't elaborate, and 33 users against, many of whom providing feedback on why.

CE is anti-child labor.

Very good.
