Hayter probably wouldn't be coy if he wasn't back. He was (rightfully) salty from Day 1 about MGS5.

The original MGS3 is probably in my top 10 games of all time

Its an odd case because he was never supposed to be in Snake Eater to begin with. Had they gotten someone else for Naked Snake in the first place and brought Hayter back for 4 it never would have been an issue.

Anyway I think the best option would be a full recast but they will probably get at least Hayter back.

Hayter wasn't supposed to be in any MGS game after 1. Kojima literally doesn't like his voice and has wanted to get rid of him for a while now. People try to go with the whole "it makes sense for Big Boss to have a different VA" route, but that would only makes sense if Snake's Japanese VA was also changed, which he wasn't.

So it's probably going to be bad right?

Not even touching Kojima not being involved. But if this is an actual remake from the ground up, it's still a lot of work for Konami, a game studio who hasn't made a AAA videogame since 2015.

I can't wait for the Ocelot growl motion captured in 8k.

The rumour was that it was being done by another studio but that is not yet confirmed.

No idea which studio is doing this. Bluepoint did the HD remasters. They are saying this remake will be faithful to the original so who knows. Maybe just an updated Snake Beater with Fox Engine.

Looks like a solid porting studio. Volume 1 suggests they will do the other games as well. I'm kinda worried that MGS4 wasn't included in this and they might abandon the idea of a Volume 2 if the first don't sell... which will leave us without a way to play MGS4 going forward >_>

Maybe it means MGS4 remake will be next...!

MGS4 being eternally trapped in PS3 jail would be as funny as it is sad and frustrating - at least emulation is coming to the rescue with some specifically tuned forks nearly perfect by now. Wouldn't mind a fresh port of Rising considering how many issues the original PC port has, though!

Yeah, given how hard it is to emulate, I'm guessing a MGS4 port isn't on the cards. A remake is more likely, if anything.

Is that confirmed? Delta means 4 while Triangle has a clear connection to the number 3.

This seems like a good time to rectify my mistake of never beating MGS3 back in the day. Was mid playthrough when I moved cities and those tend to mess up whatever I'm playing!

Just bring back the Sigint radio conversation that occurs after the dream and that's all we need

I mean, there's barely anything in that trailer. It's just the reveal that it's happening (and Snake Eater is returning as the game's anthem, which is also fantastic news).

In the same way I think CG trailers are worthless for showing off a game, they're equally worthless for dumping on a game.

Make it a rhythm QTE because that's what it ended up being anyways once you got good at it

honestly without a seasoned team behind this I have serious doubts that this is anything besides turning MGS3 into a third person adventure game with stealth elements. I don't know how you change the gameplay to modernize it without breaking the game. if you try turning it into MGS5 then you have to completely redesign all the maps.

I mean you could do what Twin Snakes did and give it MGSV's gameplay without changing any of the maps
