What is it just a remake of 3? Something else?

Yeah, Konami is making a faithful remake of 3 with the original voice actors. It is now called MGS Delta Snake Eater

Also an HD collection of the first three games so people can actually own the originals again now.

What is the game system to be released upon is it known

PS5, XS, & PC.

Morbidly curious to see another MGS game by the Metal Gear Survive guys and to see Konami's image rehabilitated by people who will buy anything.

I'm more excited about the original games being remastered

MGS is my favorite game series, so lemme break this down from a Fanboy perspective.

MGS3 Remake-Not Remaster. This the most favorable MGS title to date; my personal favorite. If this does well we may see more.

MGS Master Collection Vol.1 this, is going to be the new definitive collection after the Legacy Collection. Making it Volume 1 implies more to come- Maybe MGS4 on a modern console [!]

All in all, for us MGS fans, they delivered HARD. Maybe no new entry in the series; but do you really want that without Kojima involved?

After playing mgs5 in which I genuinely thought was just aight, *shrugs*. Sure there was budget disputes between kojima and konami higher ups that could have caused some things to be rushed along, but it WAS kojima that actually decide to blow money on using keith sutherland because fuck yeah hollywood instead of keeping david hayter around, =/.

I am actually curious to see if someone else can pull off a new mgs game without kojima around.

I used to think that no one can be in charge of a good mega man game after keji inafune left capcom (who actually took over from the original mega man creator himself), but then mega man 11 releases sometime later and I genuinely enjoyed the game. Resident evil for sure moved on without shinji mikami around, and so did devil may cry and kamiya.

.....then again, I am talking about capcom and not modern konami lol. Maybe like capcom though, this can be konami's redemption arc after their own dark ages.

I don't care about Kojima not being around for metal gear anymore if we get David Hayter back as Snake. Casting Keifer Sutherland was a dumb choice

Why? Did you hear Hayter in Peace Walker? He'd really lost his touch and sounded like a parody of himself. Keifer Sutherland is a much better actor, it's just a shame he wasn't given more to work with in MGSV.

I for one hope they implement a lot of the MGSV gameplay and mechanics into the remake

i even think it would be cool if it was open world you could still have all of the set piece locations

I'm super happy about the remake.

I'm super fucking pissed about them porting the exact same thing to the PS5 that I already have on the PS3 but can't play on the PS5 because they are too cheap to make their PS5 read a PS3 disc. I am irrationally angry about this.
