I saw topics about it but the name of the game itself threw me off. Fire Emblem: Engage sounds like a mobile game so I assumed it was a mobile game. It wasn't until a week or so ago I realized it's not a mobile game.

Either way I started Three Houses again. I only ever beat it at launch.

It's a very different game. It plays similar to classic FE than Three Houses did. And it's much more difficult. The map designs are pretty inventive compared to the simple ones of 3H.

Is every objective route the enemy or do they actually have a diverse set of map objectives?

Yeah that's what I heard. The game did well financially. Maybe not critically tho. And as predicted, it doesn't have the legs of Three Houses.

I've disliked Fire Emblem since the GBA "ambassador" game on 3DS, and never looked back.
I want my SRPGs to be number-porn, not non-porn dating simulators (with permadeath for some reason).

I dunno, Engage always looked lame to me, with it having you summon various characters from the other games, it just seemed like the only thing it had to offer is nostalgia not anything new

I'm kind of in the same boat. The more anime art style feels more like those waifu games that just made me lose interest in it. I heard good stuff about the gameplay though.
