These past two legs have both been really good.

Seems like now that there's fewer teams they can use the extra time to add more tasks rather than having to spend that time on everyone.

Yep. Perhaps the most obvious boot so far in a season devoid of suspenseful boots (save the Ian & Joe boot).

Hmm... Based on those voting confessionals I think Felicia voted for Matt and Bowie and Cameron voted for Jag... the rest are either hard to read or just total wildcards.

Wow, I thought it was gonna be either Cirie or Matt with Cameron a distant third...

This might end up being one of the weakest post merges of the 40+ seasons. Power is way too concentrated, they played it way too safe here. Save us Emily.

Yeah, I'm really hoping something gets shaken up (or Kellie can keep working her magic to keep Belo together), because right now it looks like Belo is too fractured to stop Reba + Emily, and the only ones in that alliance that I can stand are Austin and Emily (and I never thought I'd be saying that after episode 1).

I'm in total disagreement here - I think this is the best season at least since David vs. Goliath and don't think it's going to slow down.

I do think it's the best season in a very long time (and I like all the 40+s) but this show can change on a dime. And it's usually because it become too predictable. That's when the editors have to create fake storylines to keep things interesting. But the editors have done good stuff so far so it will probably stay good.

Realized I forgot to post last week. Think this might've been my favourite Amazing Race episode week but I was also watching it while playing MK8 so I probably should watch it again properly... Survivor, I'm just glad Kellie got immunity so I didn't have to sweat that out, I was expecting the split-tribe when he said there'd be two eliminations last week. Phew (though sucks that Kaleb didn't survive)

Also I think foolmo's right re: Emily, I mean I don't think she wins but if she actually won... that would have to be the greatest turnaround from episode 1 in Survivor history, right? Who's the lead contender on that front, the only person in that realm that comes to mind is Rudy surviving a 4-3-1 vote at the first tribal and finishing 3rd place...

Yeah I wonder, I guess it's one of those things where we're not as privy to behind the scenes and where people's thoughts are. I can picture them seeing Drew as not being a threat and Sifu being one. He seems more sociable, more likeable, and has strength for the always-feared individual immunity run. Or thinking Sifu has an idol and taking the opportunity to blindside him. So I can rationalize it that way but yeah, they probably could've played up the "Drew's in danger" angle up more since he didn't have his advantage with him.

oh yeahhhh that was definitely something different. Kind of felt like it fit with Jake's character, he just constantly gives this vibe that he's not 100% there so him talking through this hallucinatory tribal sequence kind of worked there, lol. Not sure I'd feel the same way if it came from anyone else and yeah ideally the editors have the restraint to just do that once and not again.

Oh yeah I forgot about that, obviously can never forget his endgame run but also overcoming that first episode. Untoppable.

Well, it depends on if you believe that Nick would've been voted out first if Pat hadn't been medevaced. But even the Davids seem to be inconclusive on whether it would have been Nick or Pat.

I think Drew vs Sifu just comes down to threat level. Sifu is strong physically and probably was strong socially too, they just didn't show it in the edit since he didn't make the jury. So to the players, it was obviously a good time to get Sifu. Drew might also be a pretty subtle threat managing player despite being a pompous ass in confessional.

So it's hitting me that since I'm almost certain the invincibility twist was added to put the game back on schedule after Luke's ejection, it's absolutely insane how the entire trajectory of the season was determined by literally one word.

it is by far the most game-heavy iteration of the traitors and the most dynamic overall cast. a really enjoyable watch, 6 eps in

I tried this out bc of the Survivor and TARCAN connection, sticking around bc I have a crush on Mai.

which has unfortunately made the show real stressful!

Bruce is a great addition to this cast. He's like if Phillip was only slightly obnoxious instead of completely obnoxious.

I'm glad the auction is back, personally. It's not the most exciting thing, but it's nice to see the players just having fun and enjoying themselves (or getting screwed over by mystery items, like poor Katurah).

I'm not usually a fan of sob stories on modern Survivor, but holy shit that was unintentionally hilarious.

Also, predicting Katurah gets hit by the blowback from Bruce's idol.

Very happy about the auction. Didn't like the treasure hunt part of it, but I'm just glad it's back and fun as always.

Bruce winning immunity is pretty hilarious though. I too think Katurah's the one who's gonna be fucked though.

Anyway, winner spec - if Kellie survives this TC, I'm 100% sure she wins.

Yeah this was my expectation too. Kellie is too hard to get out right now. He needs to remove one of her allies to make her more vulnerable. She's too protected.

Did not expect her to actually get voted out here. She felt too protected, and was getting all kinds of winner content. Nope! Love it tbh. It was one hell of a blindside, and she has hard feelings about it too which is great.

Yeah taking away three votes at F9 is deeply stupid and most definitely not the show I love.

I enjoy the 90 minute episodes, and tonight's was great, but here we go again with Jeff feeling the need to "spice things up" after a FUCKING FANTASTIC BLINDSIDE and only managing to make people play more conservatively. We're in for a boring endgame thanks to him.

Having genuine frustration from travel is something that has been greatly missing from the last few seasons. Anna Leigh is a constellation.

Hope so, as they have a 5-4 majority now, and each side trading blows goes a LONG way. Bruce and Jake have no choice but to offer a peace treaty to Kendra and Katurah... then they gotta convince Emily to flip. She's not gonna be in the middle of a 2-2 at F5, after all.

Amazing Race is boring without people getting worn down or mad at each other. I don't watch it to see people performing tasks with exotic backdrops. I want to watch it for the culture and the drama between teams... and teammates.

May watch tonight's given what you're saying, Inviso.

Multiple teams have been getting stressed and pissy with each other the past few legs. I think now that there are fewer teams and fewer places to hide, there are a lot more teams willing to blow up at each other over a stressful situation.

The Mafia sucked and Jag is a terrible winner!
