1. Did the application.
2. Did a Sparkhire one-way interview two days later.
3. Had a Zoom interview two days after that.
4. Did a marketing/writing test.
5. Was invited to campus a week later (3 hours away, by the way) for a final set of interviews, during which I interviewed with 15 different people over 4 hours (and also met the team, toured the place, was shown what each team member was working on, etc.). And then had to drive 3 hours back home.

All of that for a job that is between $55-60K starting salary.

Fucking insane how we have gotten here.

Nope. It's for a Copywriter job, and this company has never had a Copywriter before. There were other people there interviewing for other positions that same day, though.

Marketing. Lots of writing, like writing copy for marketing campaigns, video scripts, making sure the language is legal, social media posts, press releases, etc.

They've been using ChatGPT to get by for now, but they want to bring a person who has writing skills on, so then other people on marketing don't have do any writing or rely on ChatGPT for everything.
