Ashtray Maze the best.

I loved that game. It's a real mind bender and you're never really meant to feel like you know exactly what's going on. So go into it with wonder and be forgiving to the gameplay. This is definitely more of a story-focused game.

I really enjoyed Control, more than I thought I would.

my favorite AWE was the story of the extra astronaut that returned from the space mission, that was still locked up in the cell.

This is great so far, I've never read much for SCP stuff but I love the concept of it.

as for the Alan Wake connection they essentially take place in the same universe

That gets explained and it also ties in to why Jesse is kind of a weirdo.

Control is amazing. Never played either Alan Wake, probably should.

Soma and Control are the two video games that have stuck with me as total mind benders. Soma is more about the self, and what makes you you. While Control is a masterful dive into the paranormal, with stories and scenarios that wow me to this day and rival that of anything I've seen in tv or books. Both have left strong impacts on me after completion that still linger fondly to this day.

My advice for your playthrough is to make sure to read every scrap of paper you find along the way. Search everything. The lore is what makes the game so great.

And I am reading everything, did in Alan Wake too and its so damn good

Control is basically SCP: The Game, which is why it's great

Loved Control. The actual story was kind of whatever, but the combat was neat and the world building was great. Genuinely looked forward to reading a new file. Loved the description for the home safe.

That game was such a sleeper hit. Mostly because it feels alright when you start but then it gets better and better as you play. The story actually ends up pretty coherent in the end I think. Or maybe after a while you become insane enough to think it makes sense?

I played Control first then stopped before that AWE DLC came out and went back and played the first Alan Wake

Turned out I loved Alan Wake and regretted not playing it for a decade

but I haven't gone back to the AWE dlc yet in Control. At this point I might as well play the PS5 version instead from the beginning
