Is that even true? Where are these Korean Hollywood movies? I can think of more Indian stories. Makes sense given the population of India (and China).

Probably because there are more Chinese and Korean filmmakers in Hollywood than the others mentioned, and they're thus able to get their stories told on the big screen.

This is definitely a big part. You can't really make a movie that's going to be "about" vietnamese Americans and then cast Koreans in the roles. You need to have more diversity among actors first and the movies will follow naturally.

Japan stuff stays in Japan.

Hmong had a damn good move, and Clint Eastwood had to do it.

East Asians will always have more exposures over South East Asians in general. When most people think of Asians, the big 3 is always on everyones mind: China, Korea, and Japan. A lot of the stereotypes, like the model minority, get heavily reflected on this because East Asians tend to be richer and perform academically better, on average, than someone who is South East Asian. You'll be surprised that a lot of Americans can't point to Vietnam on a world map even though there was a major war that happened there.

Japan knows to stay the hell out of Hollywood unless someone's greed takes hold. Because while they certainly are not above making trash, they lament the times when their good stuff is made into just as bad, if not worse trash from people who think that, say, apparently the way to adapt Dragon Ball/Z is to make it a highschool anime where the characters probably couldn't even take down a battalion of tanks.

Despite both DB stuff and random highschool anime often including characters who can destroy cities.
