The Capcom showcase next week makes me think we might get a Rashid showcase during it.

He is the first DLC character announced for the summer.

Having a hell of a time figuring out the timing for Drive Rush cancels consistently. Some moves I have it down super consistently, get it 95% of the time without an issue. Others it feels completely random.

Overall I've gotten the execution figured out better than I thought I would in the limited amount of time I've gotten to spend with the game so far, though.

im game tournaments start up tomorrow. 2 league separated ones on the 7 and 10. times are 3am, 3pm, and 12am ET registration opens 1 hour before they start. not great ET times and probably awful europe times but hopefully future ones are different.

Picked up Zangief for the first time after learning the tricks to his 360s, I suck and lost most matches but I got a couple wins, look forward to figuring him out!

I'm actually winning matches with Juri. I've never been able to get consistent wins with her online. This netcode is amazing.

Other than that, the only issue I've had is the game freezes when I decide to quit out(PC) anyone else having this issue?

entered the tournament this afternoon. first match was against a marissa which is a character i dont know what to do against. got bopped. oh well theres always next time!

Just hit platinum with Gief. Barely managed to hit Gold with Karin in SF5 so i'm happy with that.

I find Marisa to be bs. That punch move she has destroys a drive impact in 1 hit.

The best thing to do with Gief is just do a 270 motion. Start from the right and slide the dpad/stick round to up.

yeah nothing of value on that pass. maybe therell be some drive tickets on the free version

so the pass
costs 250 coins which is 5$ or one meal at chipotle if youre on console
takes 14.5k kudos for everything on the premium pass and 9.5k for the free one
no drive tickets at all
there are 250 coins towards the end of the pass so if you buy it you can get enough for the next one
there are hub events for double kudos. on the 10th and 20th of each month and theres something going on now. plus the assorted challenges

hit credits on world tour. that was certainly an ending it had. good mode but started to feel padded/dragged on near the end. also weird scaling. probably wouldve helped if i had enhanced stuff i guess. gonna be grinding in it for awhile though and probably making some new avatars

I want to like World Tour so much, and it is a fun mode to mess around in, but it feels SO frustrating to play it and miss so many mechanics from the full game, I want to use it as a way to build muscle memory :(

I don't really see the appeal in World Tour personally. Not having a proper moveset like you say is annoying for one. Heard people saying it's like Yakuza but i have no idea why.

I am only playing it so i can get these alt costumes but Im really losing patience

I played long enough for Cammy and Juri costume 2 and peaced out

World Tour is super fun, definitely get the Yakuza side quest vibes

I enjoy for what it is, but the game definitely could have benefited from allowing you to choose you're playstyle/master from the beginning instead of starting with Luke and then going around and finding other characters. Missed potential.

yeah the pacing for the masters isnt great. luke and chun li and then like 3 more then a trickle until like chapter 8 when you get a ton

and it wouldve been better if the mode was designed more around teaching fite games than a dumpy beat em up but hey if nothing else its one of if not the best single player modes in a fighting game. granted thats not a high bar but still

I got SF6 a little while ago and have been playing on and off. Started with Dhalsim, who I mained in SF4. I enjoy the various tools he got in this game. I also appreciate the one button teleport, as my execution isn't always the greatest. Matchmaking put me in Iron to start, which was probably low, but a nine win streak brought me to 4* Bronze which is maybe about right for now, until I get used to him more.

Also tried out JP a little bit. My JP is not that good, as I haven't played a character like this before. I tried out ranked and lost my first 4 matches (I think against Iron players) then got matched with a Rookie Juri. Went 2-1 against her. Decided to focus more on fundamentals and beat a couple Iron players after that with the last match being a win against a bronze. I was shocked when it placed me in Silver after that. I never played a silver player, and lost once to a rookie player, and it still placed me that high. I anticipate some de-ranking in the future with him.

I need to figure out how to counter that focus-attack like move (HP+HK, whatever that move is called). People at these low levels love just throwing that out there. JP at least has QCB+K, but I'm not sure what to do as Dhalsim except just try to block or avoid it.

Drive Impact them right back! If both players DI the second one wins, so training that reaction can give you a lot of free damage.

Other possible solutions are parry (which blocks without sending you staggering backwards) or use a super (which breaks the armor and beats the DI).

depending how much they spam you can probably just break it with jabs or a multi hit move if your character has one

Wait, multihit moves work? Ive definitely hit a DIing opponent two times and it was still absorbed. Does it have to be a single multi hitting move?

You were almost there - DI absorbs two hits and breaks on the third. But yeah, countering with your own DI is the strongest option and shuts them down ridiculously fast since it gives you a full combo as a punish. If you're fighting a spammer and have your punishes down, they're out of the game after just a couple of those.

dont forget one of the practice settings in training mode is drive impact so thats an easy way to get some practice in.

(also note there is no de ranking before platinum)

I actually signed up for SF6 at EVO. The goal is to not go 0-2, but I am not optimistic lol

Though with >5000 people, some of them are bound to be worse than me! Or at least I hope so.

Seeding a draw like this must be absolute hell. Even if you seed all the people you know are good that still leaves a lot of pools with the potential to have some random rookies all bunched together and a lot of good players playing each other very early on.

and hey im finally done with world tour only took uh 57:24 :/ . all style ranks maxed, bonds at 100, all sidequests done, and ended up at lvl 92. not point in going for 100. didnt get all the different clothes though. theres at least 2 battle reward ones im missing at least maybe more. might go for them whenever i get the dlc characters and go back in

also maxed out the battle pass. decided to go ahead and buy it since its easy enough to max out and they pay for themselves. hopefully the rewards wont be total shit next time!
