Town had a billion ways to punish us for using items haphazardly. Corrik immediately said the items were a trap and wanted to use as few as possible. The only reason we had the track on Ctes night 1 is we overrode him. The entire point of only the ninja using an item night 2 was specifically to prevent the scanning town had everywhere from catching us.

See, I don't understand this logic.

In a regular game of Mafia, if everyone on your scum team has an active power (and for argument's sake let's say one of them was a Ninja Roleblocker), would you really say "No, don't use any power at all or else we'll get caught. Just make the Ninja roleblock and do the nightkill and that's it."

I mean, it worked out for y'all in this game. Maybe the flexibility of actions influenced the strategy, but I don't really understand the difference otherwise.

Also Wall I brought this up in the scumchat: You suspected me like all game, but your reasoning was lacking and often based tying my actions to other players. It was easy to brush you off since you really never had a focused attack on me. We only killed you because Ulti confirmed you had been roleblocked.

You need to build a foundation to your argument if you're going to take on more experienced scum players.

It was plainly apparent that the only real way I had to win the mafia game was arguing that Lea's play was so bad that obviously any rationale town would kill her...

And I just didn't want to do that. I chose not being an asshole over trying to win and that could have altered the game. I assume I die Day 3 if I don't replace out which wasn't fair for scum.

I both don't think I can play mafia without being a jackass and I don't really want to be a jackass.

So I think I'm out. It was fun.

I thought you were pretty obvious town but also that lea was pretty towny too

Anyway, I understand there was a lot about this game that made it stressful for many players involved, some out of my control but nonetheless factors that I, as host, needed to address.

I hope, in spite of everything that happened and however you may feel about my choices as a host, that everyone was able to enjoy the spectacle of the game and had fun playing and watching.

I appreciate all of the kind words and also the critiques. A big thank you to my wonderful co-hosts BCT, Sultan, and Abacus for being extremely helpful throughout the entire game, both in the topics and behind the scenes. And of course, thank you to everyone who signed up and participated in my game. It was an honor to bring this crazy little setup and its zany flavor to fruition <3

I just learned Ctes scanned me the night we killed him, and I kinda thought that scan could come too so that was a huge swing moment.

We just caught him with that killer track night 1.

Town was screwed because no one confirmed and no linked. We bussed too much early. I felt bad for Chris cuz when he said he had no idea I knew exactly how he felt.

@Crescent-Moon Eh, not really. I was very clear stating your initial post about Plum stunk whether you were both scum or not. I wouldve pushed harder d1 but 1) I was on vacation and often afk and 2) your inappropriate/out of place for mafia blogfaqs post made more than one person feel your slot should not be touched d1, then by d2 it was all about fish and beetles.

But I agree with your second paragraph and appreciate the constructive criticism nonetheless. I think you played a strong game overall, particularly starting d3.

gg scum, and Id also like to give Chang and Cody props - I thought you both played pretty well at times for town, and it was fun to follow you both.

I can't play mafia if I'm emotionally compromised. Terrible things happen, and basically anyone with enough experience with me knows it. I unravel until I implode and then I take the entire game down with me. Frankly I shocked myself by even returning, but that one hour at the end of day 1 I was there for was absolutely exhausting.

I also can't play multiple games in a short span. I basically have a cooldown period. If I tried to join another game in the next week I'd be ineffective at best.

I think its great youre self aware to this extent and know your limits. I hope youre doing well irl. Respectfully though, based on what youve said here, I think you should consider replacing out if something of the sort were to happen again during a mafia game. Risking imploding and taking an entire game down with you because you feel like rolling the dice so you can continue to participate doesnt sound fair to everyone else, tbh, and I hope you dont take offense to me saying so. Obviously you used some real inner strength in returning which is admirable, but just something to think about for future games

I will say if you replace out again citing personal reasons, even if Im the opposite alignment of you or suspect being the opposite alignment I would not use that against you + your replacement and I would argue for no one else doing so.

I've said it a few times but the persona you all get from me in mafia is 100% a mask(Alignment means nothing). When the game gets too personal like that, I just can't keep that up. It was a very weird situation and I couldn't gameplay without breaking it and it would have been way too uncomfortable a feeling. I don't like mafia to be personal in the slightest, it is meant to be a fun escape.

I'll also be honest: I barely read topics 2, 4, or 5, and I still have no idea what this MK issue is even all about.

My mask cracks very very easily. Chris has pointed out before that I'm significantly more fragile than I allow myself to project most of the time. It's why everything has to be "right" for me to function.

Also I spent a day of gameplay at Disneyland.

No. People replace out for their own reasons and other people shouldn't talk trash about them replacing out. Like... you talked crap about me being replaced when I went in vacation, as I had made clear from the start of that game. Those comments were completely inappropriate (not to mention inaccurate) and had nothing to do with the game.

As you've seen, mental health can certainly be a major factor. Those people don't need to feel like they did something wrong when they're not thinking straight. Theorizing that somebody asked for a replacement because they're in that state won't do them any favors if they're still reading the game. Mafia is a game of finding the liars and personal things outside the game should not be brought into it. Replacement reasons should only be supplied if the player provides one.

Plum: You should take a break and reevaluate later. Me, I feel like I can't stay active enough in the games to be able to play them. I've been in a weird mindset the past few weeks. Don't know what it is... but I'll probably play again after a good, long break.

I said it in dvc and I'll say it here, I apologize and I uh am not really OK but that's still not an excuse to take it out on a game that's meant to be fun.

While he named each of you at scum at some point or another, there wasn't a moment where Lopen got the entire scum team at the same time, as far as I remember.

I never got them all at once I don't believe

I didn't think you became obv scum until late when you were putting effort into the game and being wrong about it

Had Crescent basically all game based mostly on her not derailing the game with 900 posts

Had sbell and plum as wrong choices most of the game. Had red/sheep for a bit thinking Chris was scumtheater (he recovered with so much gusto I thought he might be faking-- however I hadnt noticed red replaced out after n2 for a long time would have probably put him back in my calculations off that when chris flipped town)
