Should he?

Also:
  • Should he be a protector
  • Should he make more than you?
  • Does he have to have a degree on the same level or higher?
I want women opinion but of course all is welcome just let me know who you are.

A provider means he pays the large sum of the household fees. Mortgage, insurance etc. And the women or other partner pays about 40% to 30%. Just asking

Ideally, I get it, but I see it alot. Even my relationship I am expected to be the breadwinner.

We can be, but "should" be as in most cases is antiquated and is not always possible.

Well yeah. It's not like there aren't people whose entire personality is based in a fictitious 50's.

So my Girlfriend jumps back in forth between wanna be a stay at home wife or running a business/non for profit org.

Is she based on the 50s?

No. If you view traditional gender roles as sexist and want to restructure society into something else, then that should include all trappings of said roles.

So I watch a video about men and women dating with two different level of education. Like dating someone without a degree doesn't work out for the women. Not necessarily finance but of classism. They end up being on two different end of political spectrum and their choice in adventure and hobbies varies. From what I understand.

And you know I see that. But like you said it. Some of the gender role are still reinforced. It is really hard to break from. I think it is so ingrained that a man has to make more or if not more, he put his money on the line. It is ingrained through us because we see it everywhere.

I would never forget when my uncle was out of a job and he and his wife were having a small argument and she whispered, at least I have a job. Vulnerability, plays a huge role for man wanting to keep the hypergamist balance.

Then my GF, would have days where she would cuss me out for not hurrying my transition of entry level IT to a higher paying job so I can take care of her. It is like a pressure of sort that happens as well.
But I do see fault if it is on one person. An industry you honed you skills can be gone in a day ( like copy writer and AI taking it over) and you would have to rely on that person.

The number one reason for a divorce is money and 80% of the women are initiators. I don't even know how you can educated them on gender roles I think for our generation, a majority of us are too stubborn to change.

No.

Can't say most men and woman would champion that though, and really mean it.

Oh man, I remember my ex and I were going through it. She sent me a picture of her apartment that her 20 Years older baby father had at the time and how they were living life. Then he started to feel the pressure of the bills. Then he pushed her on the ground and started beating her, saying when are you going to get a job. Oh you are right, it is on both ends, and it can get ugly if a guy had that power.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I have learned to tune her out. She noticed that I am distant lately as right now. I am not improving myself for her but I want to expand and be satisfied with a better lifestyle and I want to take this battle for retirement more seriously. Once I am ready I will tell her my boundaries. Right now she is going through some family issues so she has my emotional support right now.

No one should have to be anything But either can be

How each family does finances is about what works best for them. Sometimes, only one partner works. Other times, its a even split And some people do a pay based on the percentage of income thing For example, if you make 30% of the total home income, you pay 30% of the bills So, just depends

I work myself to death while she stays at home and takes care of stuff there.

That way I can grow old and distant from everyone and only enjoy the very last of my years.

Just like God intended.
