"THERE'S NOTHING TO DO!"

Why are people in such a rush when they get games? Just stop and smell the roses my guy.

I get confused about that, too. Like it's your game, play it how you enjoy it but it's definitely not my style.
Like Ive heard multiple people talking about how they're playing (their first run) of Diablo 4...but ignoring the story and speeding through it.
I just don't understand it. But again, play how you think it's fun.

Pretty well said. I've been playing DBZ Dokkan Battle off and on for 7 years now, and it's the perfect example of the community as a whole. Like yes, there's been some (a lot) of brutally painful dead periods, but a lot of the 'no content' hate is people straight up waiting for the second the content drops and staying up until it's all done. Then bitching about the lack of content.

In their defense, it's pretty understandable to not give a shit about Diablo's story.

Considering Diablo has always had fantastic cutscenes, and at least a compelling story, I disagree.

If I do too much side stuff, I wont finish the game. Its a personal flaw, but I just cant maintain that much interest in a game. Ive never finished a WRPG like Skyrim, Fallout, Witcher.

When it comes to a game like Diablo, it's probably because they have thousands of hours in other Diablo games, and they know that the story is mostly useless filler, and the real gaming for them begins once you've maxed out your character and can start grinding for the best gear and stuff you'll never find on an average run of the game.

That's where the different strokes comes in for me. I know I'm going to spend hundreds and hopefully thousands of hours going as fast as I can. So on my first run I like to take my time.

D3 soured me on the Diablo endgame, and early feedback from people is that D4 endgame is ass too.

I'm just gonna enjoy my ride. The destination doesn't sound fun.

Real talk - what didn't you like about D3's Endgame? Too easy to gear?

I rushed the temples in TotK and am admittedly in that situation not because there's nothing to do but because there's nothing I can do. Most of my weapons have been used up, I have no arrows and no food. I'm still using beginner armor and haven't upgraded it. It seems I'll be forced to slow down and resupply.

I just didn't feel any motivation to grind. In D2, you had a slot machine type feeling with boss runs where you want to grind those bosses over and over again. There's a type of account progression where you build wealth for your account. You can find something that's not usable for your class, and trade it for runes or another piece of gear. Eventually you get enough wealth to build better characters for PVE or PVP. There was a sense of pride in building my first viable PvP character or getting a Hammerdin made.

In D3, it just felt like the goal was just to get higher rifts, and have higher numbers. Like GR2 vs GR20, what do I care? ( Don't blast me on the numbers. I don't remember all the details of the game.)

Yeah I dont understand people who rush through a game without taking time to savor it.

Ive done that accidentally lol but those were with relatively short games that I was enjoying so much that I couldnt put down Then I got to the end and I was like oh. Whoops but the upside is that games on the shorter side can be replayed without feeling like its a big time commitment.

Nah, that's totally reasonable. D3's apparent hate boner for JSP causing them to just remove all trading was uh... It was a decision for sure.

I think another large part of it related to trading is that D3 feels more like a single player game than D2. Trading created more interactions between players, and you also had PVP lobbies where you can pit your gear against others.

D3 is like you're just grinding for yourself.

Granted I've put thousands of hours into 2/LoD as well, but that could be why I've always enjoyed 3/RoS - I borderline hate playing the majority of games other than single player.
