Junker Queen getting nerfed, Lifeweaver getting buffed, Widow headshots getting heavy nerfed, Hanzo is getting nerfed, Mei getting some of her old slowing effects back. Casss grenade damage is going down, but also affects movement abilities.

Soft return of crowd control.

A sniper that can't one shot is useless. That's the only benefit they bring to a team fight: a high skill floor killer at range.

It reminds me of Deus Ex Human Revolution where you can get a silenced sniper rifle but it's not strong enough to kill someone with one shot.

Really misses the point of a silencer.

Oh, now they nerf Widow and Hanzo. They couldn't do it while I was still playing OW1.

Blizzard never knew what kind of game they were making to begin with. They plastered a bunch of broadly appealing concept art and a barely cohesive story together and tried to make build a game around it.

Most competent devs start with the game first and then craft a world around it.

OW was good.

Until people started having fun with it in their own ways and the devs decided if people were not gonna play it how they wanted, they would not be playing at all.

I played for the first time in over a year and first time with OW2.
Ana felt nerfed. Reapers healing felt nerfed. Roadhog felt nerfed.

The only thing of Ana they nerfed is how much her biogrenade heals

Giving Widow more damage fall off is going to be Pharah's favorite thing.

I play a lot of Hanzo (when I do play) and I think it's fair not to let him 1-shot 250 health heroes. There should be some noticeable difference between 200 and 250 health after all.

You have to get a headshot to make it work, but yeah, he can still one shot a lot of characters.

They were balanced in OW1 by the massive prevalence of barriers

Now that tanks are restricted to 1 and they're not always going to have a massive shield blocking your shots they are much stronger than they were in OW1

Agreed. Roadhog was my favorite tank for a long time until Sigma came around. Hitting somebody in the face with a giant boulder is just as satisfying.

Too bad, they kept killing everything at the start and i just dropped it could feel they wanted a very specific way to play and not enjoy the game casually, must always be playing professionally

It's more obvious than ever that they don't have a clue of what they're doing and I'm pretty sure any talent that they may have been on the team has long since left for greener pastures.

I hope Mei doesn't get a damage nerf in exchange for the slow. I much prefer OW2's damage spray to the gimmicky one in OW1.

Even that was an afterthought. Most of the Overwatch roster started from character designs first, and later their abilities and kits were decided on.

I'm not saying they just ported over TF2 kits cuz they didn't (at least not completely. Characters like Junkrat are sus). But the hero shooter with Payload is distinctly TF2

Especially true on PC. When the opposing team has a good Widow, you can't even turn a corner without dying instantly unless you're behind a tank with a barrier.

Yea, I guess I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just being critical about their development process.

They made characters (classes), roles, and maps with that patented Blizzard audiovisual polish and never stopped to ask why they were doing it that way or what purpose those things served in Overwatch's predecessors.

What makes TF2's sniper good? His powerful damage potential and ability to lock down sightlines and chokeholds. What makes TF2 sniper bad? His terrible close range options, slow charging headshots, lack of mobility, and being susceptible to flanks.

So instead of seeing why these flaws kept Sniper as a (relatively) balanced class, the Overwatch Team saw them as mistakes and gave Widowmaker every tool needed to mitigate them. A trap to alert to flankers, a zipline to reach even more insane sightlines and escape bad positions, a fast charging sniper, and a viable close-range weapon.

If you're up against a good TF2 Sniper, you have many options. Countersnipe, get overhealed by a medic and cross sightlines safely, flare spam as pyro, go scout or spy and flank, rocket jump as soldier, abuse corners and splash damage as demoman.

What are your options against a good Widowmaker? Play Widowmaker yourself and hope you can countersnipe. Ironically, a cast of characters 4 times as large has a fraction of the options.
