Come on now, not even close to being the same energy.
Sure, it's great to want to help people who are already weighted down by ridiculous loan debts, but we have to focus just as much on how we keep this same thing from just happening again and again ad nauseam.

The government needs to allow tuitions to be able to be defaulted; you need to be able to declare bankruptcy. They are so much money because you aren't able to get out of it

What's stopping everyone from just declaring bankruptcy immediately after graduation? Nevermind if they even graduated and didn't just party hard the entire time.

There's no logical argument that is satisfactory when it comes to explaining why "your" debt is my problem.

So some of us couldn't or didn't go to college. We missed out on that experience. Became a success anyways, but now you want me to subsidize you because you took on debt in an irresponsible way.

No. Do I think tuition is a scam and bs in this country? Yea. That's why I didn't go to college. And I resent people who got to and then moved back in with their parents and cry because their degree in anthropology is useless. That is your fault.

You have to go through an additional process and prove a greater degree of hardship to include federal loans in a bankruptcy. This process is fairly intrusive, and harder to obtain the discharge.

You realize you've already done that, right? Where do you think the federal government gets the money for the loans in the first place? Whether loans are forgiven or not, you're not seeing any of that money.

that's 1.4 trillion that goes to other stuff as it gets paid back.
