There's also The Guardian Legend if you want to practice your shooting without it being the whole game. You play as a dragon instead, but there's an easy mode and a hard mode for it. Squadron, Firepower 2000, Space Megaforce were all really solid and don't really cross that "good but too frustrating to really be fun" line that a lot of shmups seem to go over. --- Are we the baddies? <cite>ANort175 posted [p:974036734] in Retro shoo... For modern shmups look into Sky Force Reloaded, Habroxia 2, or Natsuki Chronicles.
