Boom or Bust for this game

i didn't have any hopes after fo4/76, but it looks incredible.

starting to feel like i'm the only person who learned from previously massively hyped games

So don't do it? It's a Bethesda game. I'm sure you can just follow the scripted quests fine.

Elder Scrolls 6 is already announced. Why would they announce it again? They're not going to have anything concrete to show until long after Starfield has released.

They announced it... like 5 years ago, and we never got another update on it since then. Even Duke Nukem Forever we had some form of update every couple years.

That's because they were trying to do damage control for fallout 76 and try to get some positive press. I doubt TES 6 will be in actual development until Starfield is done

and that's a fair point. They are still pushing Fallout 76 for whatever reason. I guess it got better?

My brothers in Christ, why are you getting hyped for a literal Bethesda game in the year of our Lord 2023? Todd Howard has been fucking us raw for the better part of a decade now. Wtf makes you think, "Oh, this time things will be great!"

This time they have first party support backing them.

It literally looks like a sequel to No Man's Sky. Same resource harvesting with a laser, same building with generic pods that you then go inside and add things to, ffs the creature scanning looks directly copied from NMS. When they said "you can explore asteroid fields" and cut to a shot of the ship in space, I literally said "I've played this before..." out loud.

It's gonna be NMS with better combat and a marginally more interesting but equally generic and clich Bethesda storyline.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it. I loved NMS even on launch day. But this is going to be a VERY familiar experience and I think a lot of people are going to be really disappointed to find that out on release despite it being so obvious already.

They even did the "the light is realistically calcuated through the planet's atmosphere" that NMS lied about.

When you install a mod to transform your spaceship in to Thomas the Tank Engine that screams "Oh yeah!" whenever you use the jump dive, "silly" becomes entirely subjective.
