I've never seen a live action remake but my gut says I would prefer the original

I don't think the jungle book was better but i thought it was an interesting take.

Once everything became shot for shot remakes with pointless and boring additions any value they might have had was lost.

Jungle Book is about even with the animated version. Pete's Dragon is also better than the original if you count that.

Jungle Book for sure. Also Cinderella because the original is just not that good!

I mean, the recent Disney remake that is near-universally considered to be an improvement over the original is Petes Dragon, but thats not of a cartoon so

Jungle Book was good.

The rest are all atrocious.

Yeah i dont think I'd call those last two remakes.

Not out of the ones I've seen, no. Based on my relatively low opinion of the original, I'd say there's a chance I could enjoy the Cinderella remake more than it.

it was a good production, visually pleasing and except for Emma Watson had a superb cast. Also Evermore sung by Dan Stevens.

And I would definitely say the original Maleficent was great and better than Sleeping Beauty even though its not a remake.

Jungle Book is easily better than the original. People who would take the animated one here are hard to take seriously. Most of the others, I could say sure, no way they're better. I personally do prefer Little Mermaid to the original though, mostly because I find Ariel in the original to be naive and unlikable in most every way. The remake presents her a good bit differently and she doesn't come across as just a brat. The love story aspect is also better in the live action than in the original.

Cinderella is better but neither it nor its original are particularly good. Jungle Book is about as good or slightly better. All the rest are gutter trash.
