No link because my work PC is really weird with copy/pasting websites, can someone post one?

Apparently the new update is going to now require SSD rather than just recommend it, which is the first I'm hearing of a game doing that.

Also apparently comes with a massive overhaul for the core game that will be free for all players, so I might be convinced to give it another shot.

I can see this becoming the new norm now that consoles have SSD as standard.

Make every AAA game require an SSD IMO. That way devs can design for it and make better games.

All my games get installed on an SSD anyway, plus if you have a gaming PC, why wouldn't you have an SSD at this point? I think it's fine move.

Hard to share games with the wife when playing on PC

Basically any semi-modern PC these days has SSD. I'm only surprised this isn't the norm yet.

Maybe I should look out for Xbox Series X deals down the line.

Like I could look into building a new PC but my PC still serves me very well for anything that isnt current-gen gaming.

Not really? You can easily put an SSD into a 10-year-old PC.

Because games are asking for .25 TB and SSDs aren't as gigantic as large storage drives.

Sure, but how big a drive do you need to have games on it? You can get a 1TB SSD for the same price as a 1TB HDD, which would be enough to have at least 3 or 4 games active at a time.

Maybe I'm just out of touch with prices but you can have a 2TB gen 3 NVME for something like $100. That's more than enough for games.

I have a 256 GB SSD I use for the OS thats nearing full capacity. Its not where I install my games. Even if I just put another SSD on there, the GPU is still somewhat outdated. But I guess itll still meet the minimum requirement.

Having 3 or 4 active games is shit.

Between this and FF7R-2 being on two discs, this does makes sense if AAA games are just gonna embrace being super luxury experiences with the latest tech. Which is absolutely what CDPR is going for.

It's not GOOD but like, yeah makes sense, I expect to see more of this until something breaks

Was gonna buy a new HDD to migrate my files to. I'd think that, in the near future, that's what an HDD will be used for: Storing photos, videos, docs, etc. In 10 years, they won't be a thing anymore at all.

Might as well buy one now since it'll probably be my last one.

Most of the games on my PC get put on the large HDD.
It's surprising how quickly a 1 TB SSD fills up lol
