I recall a time when the top games list was typically occupied by at least 3 Final Fantasy games.

And in noticing a bit of FF buzz on the board lately, I had to wonder how many of us were brought to this board to get a gold chocobo or the answers to those stupid fucking trivia games in FF9.

Nah. My first thought was GTA, but it maaaay have actually been Pokemon or Legend of Dragoon.

Pretty sure the first time I visited GF was for Melee

I actually think it might have been Beyond the Beyond

I first came here for Capcom vs SNK 2 moves and combos.

Spyro the Dragon was the first time I came here on a library computer.

Bomberman The Second Attack is what brought me here

Someone linked me here to vote in the first character battle for a character they wanted to win. I was amazed by the amount of guides / information available.

I think the first resources I used was for information on all the Final Fantasy VII end game / side quest stuff.

So Shining Force led me here.

I originally came to GameFAQs to look up (bogus) info on how to get Gotenks in Dragon Ball GT Final Bout back in 2002.

I don't remember the first thing I went here for. I know I printed out a lot of cheat codes from GameSpot (which got them from here) back when they still had the printer friendly option.

(Sorry I got off topic) But I am not kidding I was literally in early Middle/Highschool still and was talking to a old friend and his new friend about these things he found out about Shining Force.

I am re-thinking things but until Playstation 1 gaming was the geekiest thing. I remember my hs class being so into Twisted Metal 2 and I felt the same.

GTA 3 completely changed gaming! That game was so nuclear hot!!!!!!! I remember seeing a old friend play GTA 1 and I was like wow you do that and that's all. GTA 3 was crazy. (leading the conversation).

I remember when I first started using the websight I was afraid to post on the forums and stayed away from those. But I was a huge fan of GTA3 and wanted to join in on the discussion for that. Within a day or two of posting of the forums boom already banned. This websight loved to gate keep new comers even back in the day. I wonder why it is dead now.

After that I stayed away from the fourms for awhile unless I had a specific question I really needed answered for a game. Even then the users would rather give attitude than answers. I don't know why I kept coming back and still do. Probably I find the color scheme soothing.

Started browsing this site in 2001 to read up on various things about phantasy star online on the dreamcast. MAG raising, basically how to get what photon blasts and what evolution you will get. HP and MP mat usage limits. Where to find rares, that kind of thing. Eventually the website PSO-world came along for all that phantasy star online info.

I used to print out books for the star ocean 3 inventor stuff, lol. Missable private actions and all that. I had the physical guides for tales of symphonia and tales of the abyss and thankfully they actually covered the most important stuff for those games, but I def. remember printing out a lot of stuff for games like star ocean 3, dark cloud 2, final fantasy 10 and so on.

I didn't actually make a account to post stuff until 2008 though.

Yeah i found this site looking for ff7 info. While it wasnt a difficult game, i was not familiar with jrpgs so certain things were confusing to me. I got spoiled on aeris too

Chrono Cross back in 2000. Didn't register for the boards until 2003 which was Final Fantasy related. I had some question about FFV on Anthology.

Not for FAQs but I believe I first came to this site to post on the FFX message board in 2002.

Midnight Club for ps2. Someone at school told me about gfaqs because I couldnt beat the last dude. Thats when I discovered message boards for the first time as well.
