The ending of The Wind Rises when his wife dies really got to me. Still not as fucked up as Grave of the Fireflies though.

What really got me was, he accomplished his dream, but his invention got weaponized by the losing side of WW2 and then scrapped.

That got to me as well. At first I didn't like how monotone Jiro was but when you think about the time frame of where he's living, it makes more sense. I might check out the novel if it's in stock the next time I visit the book store.

Yesterday I watched When Marnie Was There. It was okay but I loved the ending and I liked how Anna evolved.

Not sure what to watch next but I've heard Your Name is good.

Yes I would. It's a fantastic movie. But it's also one of the most depressing animated films of all time. It's especially worse if you 1. Tend to put yourself in the main characters shoes and 2. Have a younger sister. But I recommend watching it at least once. @Poorly
