Yeah Im super pissed about Young Griff being cut still. What really frustrates me is that the early show actually gets a bunch of changes right. A lot of Martin's female characters are.... not great. Lady Stark, Cersei, Danny and Shay are all pretty fucking horrible in the book. The show did a lot to make them more fully, rounded people instead of being respectable a hateful, vindictive and short-sighted mother and three dumb little girls. Tyrion is a spiteful vindictive shit in the books, but mixh more a full person in the show. But then we get to Shay's death scene and we see that the show has even less respect for these characters than Martin does, when they give show Shay the same ending book Shay got in spite of them being two wholly different characters with vastly different arcs and vastly different Tyrions. It doesn't fit the story they told at all for her to go out like that, because we got two showrunners who think consistency is for nerds, this is what we get. Jamie and Cleganea stories is another example where we get a perfectly good story which is then just thrown down the ditch.
