no, no one needs $248k a month for anything, especially not for a kid.

even that much for a year sounds like a lot.

well, they apparently have 3 kids
so it's only like $1 million a year per kid
that's just how much it costs to raise a kid these days

If someone is legitimately making the case in court that they need $248K in child support a month, the judge should award full custody to the other party on the grounds of gross incompetence in the one requesting that amount.

for a rich person, I could see $1 million a year (for all three) being more fair.

Does Kevin Costner of all people even make 250k a month, much less whatever he needs for himself in addition to what she wants from him?

Private school
live in nanny
personal chef to cook for them
private tutors and instructors
college fund for Ivy League education
luxury SUV + chauffeur to drive them places, plus new luxury cars for each of them when theyre old enough to drive
4 vacations per year

All that adds up so I can see that being a fair price

When they made the prenuptial contract, did it not cover the amounts of child support? Or is she basically saying that now she doesnt like the contract and wants more?

Prenups only cover assets accrued before marriage. There wouldn't be any clauses for future children.

these people have a lifestyle to uphold and we wouldn't want a silly thing like divorce to mess that up

Its to maintain the quality of life of the kids.

Thats how it works. Costner would understand how this works.

Do they live in a big fancy mansion with a super nice car and full access to the best healthcare and services? Maids and gardeners? The pool guy? Personal doctors? Their private helicopter so they can fly to their private schools?

Never underestimate a rich persons ability to spend a metric fuckton of money.

He was just making $1.3 million per episode from Yellowstone, plus ya know already being set for life from his acting/directing in the 80s/90s and even smaller parts he gets these days likely pay big for his name alone.

those kids are used to a certain lifestyle. they can't be embarrassed by their mom not wearing next-season designer to the country club. those networking connections she's making are for them.
