Every time Clive grunts and speaks during his fights, I orgasm a little.

"STAY DOWN" has me having chills. I'm straight btw but Estinien was the perfect choice for Clive's VA. It just works.

Estinien and Clive have different actors.

Apparently, the first dragoon you encounter at the start of the game did have Estinien's actor as a casting gag, but I haven't looked into it to confirm it.

I finally managed to play some more and I gotta say, I don't love how flashy Cid's attacks are. It's been mostly fine, but when you're fighting a dragoon which also has blue lightningy abilities, it gets kind of confusing.

I found a scarecrow that looks like Vivi, that's kind of funny.

• Happy and noble family whose betrayal kickstarts the entire plot including the beheading of the patriarch.
• Hostage wards meant to ensure peace growing up with children of said family (although I will grant that that one's an historical trope).
• Evil blonde mother obsessed with her own power to the point of placing her child son on the throne.
• Child ruler themselves obsessed with being close to their mother at all times and unable to communicate.
• Heavily religious islanders living in the west sea and being thought of as less civilized than those living on the mainland.
• Birds that can carry messages are an old trope, but special attention is paid to them and they're treated as "above" the old days of carrier pigeons.

Ho doggy that Titan fight is a hoot.

The one fight that could have used the extreme bombast is an orchestral score and we get some weird nurock song.

Those chronoliths are also fairly challenging, been trying and failing to clear one of them.

Well seems I'm in the minority of that song choice then cause I seriously thought it just hurt the fight completely. I'll give it a listen tomorrow proper and see if I think the same

These don't seem to scale so if you want you can come back later. I only ever failed the Phoenix one and the rest felt like a breeze(or maybe I suck with Phoenix).

Can't speak for anyone else here but a part of regular XIV Titan's theme plays during the XVI Titan fight which might have helped some here like the song.

I understand why some Bearers get their brand removed, but wouldn't the giant cheek scar kind of inform people of who you are?

Yeah, this point is kinda silly to me.

Like, "without our brand, we can move freely," but like...you literally now just have a brand-shaped scar right where it was. The common civilian would have to be a braindead idiot or incredibly gullible to not realize right away what was going on.

the scar is nothing to the rest of the populace because no one cares. It's not a brand, so it's not a concern

That's the dumb part. Bearers are hated because they're Bearers, not because of the ink. If I lived in that world, and I saw someone with a brand-shaped scar I'd immediately know they were just a Bearer that had their mark removed. It shouldn't stop them from being discriminated against, unless -- like I said -- everyone in Valisthea is an idiot.

Because you know that the marks can be removed. Most people in the world don't know the marks can be removed. It's a very risky and uncommon procedure, and they very much tell you this in one of the sidequests.
