Disney did Mulan so dirty :(

They failed at trying to make it appeal to China, too, so what a disaster. I loved the original Mulan, it's actually my favorite Disney Animated movie.

In another five to ten years, they can re-reboot some of their live action movies.

Like, they can do "Mulan and Mushu" which, as the title suggests, is closer to the original movie. Or they can do "Ariel" which, instead of being a musical, is more of a Pirates of the Caribbean / Harry Potter style dark fantasy. (And this time Ariel is a White princess with a Black prince.) Or they could have "Simba and Nala" which is a better version of the Lion King reboot that we got a few years ago.

When you've milked everything dry, go back and milk it again.

Disney's attempts to cater to Chinese people have almost all failed because they seem to have no idea what Chinese people actually want.

Live action Mulan was pandering to an insulting degree and robbed of anything that made the original film interesting. It just looked like a shitty mid tier wuxia film, of a story that already has a dozen better film adaptations in China.

or they can actually tell the story of Mulan so people associate Mulan with a real person rather than a Disney film.
