There's so many examples of guys like you saying this and that won't happen it's too funny. Meanwhile every major new game is online, even single player ones. Meanwhile everyone is building a digital storefront and holding their titles hostage on them to force adoption.

You guys need to grow up and accept reality or get a new hobby. This is the future of videogames. Hard copies will die out and the very console will die out. Think Xbox Game Pass, that's it. Every major publisher is already moving this direction.

The entire court case Sony brought is literally just to slow Microsoft down from gaining too enticing of a games as a service catalogue, nothing else. why do you people think EA, Ubisoft, Rockstar, EPIC, etc. have been putting out these launchers on PC and in many cases forcing exclusivity(on multiplatform third party games)?

TC provided zero evidence it needs to be online. Just that you need an internet connection to download the game because theres no discs.

Recycling still has far more impact than just a digital release. Emissions from transport, the amount of people who don't recycle, etc.

That's absolutely stupid what the fuck? I hate the push away from physical disks. I'm not against digital but the fact that we can't even own what we're buying now is unsettling. And this is coming from someone who uses steam.

Again, not against Digital, at least give us an option :/

MS constantly pushing for crap like this any time they might actually have a hit on their hands pretty much ensures the 360 was the last MS console I'll ever own.

GaaS is the future of every games publisher though.

Even at $30 a month it's kind of ridiculous if you play games a ton, but the amount of people that could justify that price is probably not nearly enough

I imagine after a few patches, a disc has no useful data other than being a key to the game.

I don't know if it's because hardcore gamers are regressive and individualistic by nature, but there needed to be some type of organized response to losing ownership of the products we buy and losing the ability to play unless we submit to constant surveillance via the Internet. None of this is even slightly acceptable.

If I came up in the modern gaming environment, I wouldn't be a gamer today because I couldn't have afforded any of the games that got me into it. All those experiences came from used physical discs and games that my IRL friends let me borrow because they OWNED them. That's what is being lost here.

Why? I mean digital only is, well, it's gonna happen no matter what but being forced to be online ruins the game for me. Sure I have internet but sometimes it's spotty or losing connect. Is my online single player only game gonna log me out or whatever because of that? I don't think im gonna buy this game now. Hype destroyed.

I have a Series S so I'd be buying digital anyways, but a required internet connection is dumb.

Please. Please read. Theres no evidence at all that the game is always online. The original tweet didnt say it, Wario didnt say it, even TC didnt say it, even though the topic title was somewhat misleading. This entire topic, somehow even after I spelled it out, is people failing to read and worrying about a thing that isnt happening.
