Make 'em learn the skills of sewing at home. Sitting in the parlor, working the pedal of the sewing machine and patiently stitching swastikas into flags, while Mom ironed Dad's Klan robes and Dad scoured the local newspaper, listing the names of likely targets -- it used to be a traditional way for the neo-Nazi family to spend time together. Feels like we're losing all the old crafts.

Reading a book now called Gangsters VS. Nazis. Basically a judge in the mid 1930s saw the Rise of Nazis in the US and felt it was bullshit, so he contacted Jewish gangsters in many cities throughout the US and asked them to rough up the Nazis at rallies. Not to a point where anyone would die, but certainly yo make sure there broken bones and a significant mark left to help deter future rallies.

Wonder if that should return.

Judges working hand in glove with violent organized crime? Sure. Always good to know that gangsters could wipe the slate squeaky clean for terrorizing neighbourhoods and beating up a couple of people every week for failing to pay protection money, just by giving one or two Nazis a bit of a kicking now and again.

Seeing Cons on the internet call this a "Dem false flag" because the area is vaguely middle class, along with MAGAs fighting with Patriot Front goofs because they think they're "Feds" is a certain kind of "funny", but it isn't really making me laugh.

But I really, really don't think judges should be anywhere within a hundred miles of under-the-table deals or friendly relations with mobsters. Corruption of the judiciary is too heavy a price to pay for the fun of a bit of Nazi-bashing. The CIA sometimes got into bed with organized crime in its Cold War search for allies against communism, and I'd view this in the same light. Judges should never tell gangsters, "thanks, that's one I owe you." I don't really care what the cause is, and I don't view gangsters as antiheroes just for beating up a few Silver Shirts for a change instead of some poor schmuck who's behind on his protection payments.

Again I agree. The whole scenario demonstrated in the book feels morally off and the author seems to be quite fond of the gangsters and dismissive of many of the horrible things they have done. At the same time, I'm amazed that many of these Murder Inc. and related individuals didn't actually kill any nazis when they killed so many non-nazis beforehand.
