The most recent final episode was one of the best. There were some solid things here and there, though the forced pairings of characters did get stale. (Hermes and Bender, Amy and Bender episodes in particular).

Some, half at best. It's incomparable to the original, especially since the ones that were bad were legitimately bad, instead of just "not as good".

Yeah. There were bad points, but I'm happier that the last revival exists.

It's kind of funny to think about how like 80% of the most popular Futurama memes come from the revival episodes. Like sometimes I think "what episode did that come from again?" and be like "wow, that was newer than I thought it was"

all the futurama movies (which I guess is season 5 or 6 now on streaming) were terrible, but the eps after those were okay

To me, 50% of episodes being okay to good still sounds like a big success for a long running sitcom. The lows were just VERY low. This isn't like other shows I watched where after a certain point you're lucky for 10-20% to be watchable

i expect this to be okay, like most stuff post-original run. will probably watch, but i'm imagining it'll be more on the level of a disenchantment than original futurama stuff.

Shut Up and Take my Money, by far the most popular Futurama meme, is not only from a reboot episode, but it's from Attack of the Killer App: Arguably the worst episode in the entire series.

I would say the money one has grown more popular because it's used far more by people who have never seen a single episode of Futurama.

i think it's correct that "shut up and take my money" is the most popular futurama meme

suspicious fry is the second-most popular and i can't even think of a third

There have been a lot of incidentally negative things lately TBH.

I made a super positive topic asking about Rain Code but ironically most people came in to say they didn't care lol.

I haven't seen AR, but I've seen the Has Leak season of Community so I know it can get worse than the Futurama revivals.

Community recovered from the gas leak year pretty well if you called it quits there (which would be understandable), just have to get used to the rotating cast in the later seasons. I think I remember the final season being one of my favorites.

Not sure if I actually ever finished the original run on Futurama, should probably get to that eventually.

Hah yeah, totally forgot about it being on Yahoo Screen. That did not last long.

Other Space was a Paul Feige show on there that I ended up liking quite a bit, but seeing as it was made for Yahoo Screen yeeeeah didn't get a second season.

I don't know if they're still as popular as they once were but the neutral guys from the zapp joining the crew episode were pretty big memes a few years back.
The hypnotoad and snoo snoo as well, but they were probs 10+ years ago.

It's not. Time and variability are on the side of suspicious fry. Hell, they used the meme to market the show.

Searches for "futurama meme" prioritize suspicious fry, and using .gif tools has that first for "futurama" as a whole.

Suspicious Fry isn't just the most popular meme from Futurama, it's the most representative image of the show at this point.

This topic made me realize how many Futurama meme there are.

I think once a meme is acknowledged by the creators/publishers/marketers/etc and then used for financial gain, it becomes ineligible.

Which puts Take my Money in a wierd spot, because I don't believe Futurama has used it to market, but I've seen completely unrelated brands use the meme in relation to THEIR products.

Futurama is a meme machine with lots of popular ones. Most of them are probably fairly close in popularity even
