I understand low expectations. Amazing Spider-Man 2 was trash. Both Venom movies had flaws. They fucked up Morbius pretty badly. I totally get the lack of hype, and why people don't plan to see it.

What I don't get is why people are mad that they're making the movie. People act like he's only ever depicted as a completely evil person with disregard for life. They're completely against the idea of him being an anti-hero instead of a remorseless monster that hunts man. But this isn't the first time he's been an anti hero. Spider-Man TAS only has him as an actual villain in his introduction. He's an ally or misunderstood rival in his other appearances. Outside of comic fans that's by far the most recognizable version of him, and it was a great interpretation. So conceptually, this movie could be great (but again, Sony has not given reason to expect them to do it right).

I assumed you were talking about the sequel video game. Had no idea they were making a Kraven movie.

Cause it looks nothing like Kraven? I mean I guess I wouldnt be as angry if Insomniac didnt release their Kraven a few weeks earlier. Still dont get why a man named Sergei Dimitri Symostivych Kravinoff doesnt have an accent.

For me, I don't like that they're obviously milking these villain movies. I also don't like that they're trying to humanize these villains for viewers to empathize and it goes beyond superhero villains. It kinda started with Maleficent where they try to say that she's actually the good guy and the good guy was actually the bad guy. Giving them a back story is one thing but trying to rationalize why they became a villain is doing a little too much.

I totally get disliking the execution and that lake of faith in Sony. But most people were pissed at the concept when it was announced, which is why I was confused
