What is Game of the Month Club Replay?

Game of the Month Replay is a community project based upon the Game of the Month Club. Much like the GOTM Club, it's open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a bonus chosen game every month. The three games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck).

The only catch is, it must be a game that the GOTM Club has already played, so it's an opportunity to replay games you may have missed out on the first time or just want to try again.

The Basics

- Each month will usually feature three games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For each of the games you beat you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's game is usually on the 25th
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules

- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for beating one of the featured games
- Each game you nominate has to be one that was already nominated for the GOTM Club.
- You can nominate games that have already been selected for the Replay Topic, but not the same game twice in a row.
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a featured game after the drawing for next month's game but before the end of the month
- You have 9 supports you can use throughout the year. Your only limitations are that you can't support your own nomination, and you can only use one support per game per month

If I wasnt still playing Zelda, Id be in for Tomb Raider. Ive been meaning to get to the 2 sequels at some point but its been a long time since I played the first. Then again, probably doesnt really matter

Ill support that. Stupid name but then I learned its a Metroidvania Would have liked to play it in the OG club but now that its free on Game Pass, yeah, sign me up!

FIST was also free on Epic Game Store a while back, if that's useful to anyone.

Going for NieR: Automata this month, but won't beat it day 1 like Journey.

Playing Tomb Raider: DE with FPS boost is sublime

Up to chapter 15 in Ghost Trick, enjoying it very much for the most part, although a couple of the puzzles were a bit annoying with the trial and error.

Missile is the best.

I've started Ghost Trick and played through chapter 6 I think. Liking it a lot so far, though I think the gameplay might be my least favorite part of the whole package. Might post some of my thoughts about where the story is going later when I'm not at work.

Really enjoyed it, story and presentation were top-notch.

Random thought after finishing about the story. Kinda weird how most of the bad guys just disappear from the story, but time travel schenanigans creating an alternate timeline does make them irrelevant lol.

Missile remains the best.

Ghost Trick beaten

I never ended up posting my story thoughts because I played further without doing it and a lot of them became less relevant, whoops. I did like the story though. I thought the meta-mystery was a lot more interesting than the actual Ghost Trick puzzles, which were a lot of "just rub the 2-5 interactive objects on each other until the game lets you proceed".

I loved the music and the characters, and it's not something I normally really think about but the animations in this game are all top class, even on minor NPCs. Really just a great game overall.

Yeah it's extremely funny how you just straight up murder the first couple assassins and then essentially get too distracted with other shit to ever deal with the rest.

So I started Tomb Raider but I'm not sure I can make it through this, it literally makes me want to vomit (and not because of any of the gore/dead bodies/etc). The gameplay is shaky, the cutscenes are shaky, I've never gotten motion sick from a video game before but I could hardly stomach 30 minutes of this one. Gonna try to push through it because I'm intrigued by the story and characters so far but yuck.

I will support Minit

I'll be pulling the new game either the 26th or very early in the morning on the 27th if the date rolls over, it just works out for me best that way. So you have a tiny bit more extra time.

I have now beaten the definitive edition three times and have a grand total of one achievement to show for it lol. FPS boost on Series is really superb. Once I spring for a new gaming computer, I'm definitely looking forward to trying max settings on some recent AAA games.

I'm not sure I've ever actually beaten F-Zero. Seems like I always get a few races in and then it got too tough.

Same here, but I really really did not like what I played of it before

Definitely playing both games I nominated. Might play F-Zero too. Glad I picked short games for this one.
