People change. It's incredibly rare for a person to stay the same over the years; and sometimes those changes create irreconcilable differences. I've seen marriages fall apart after 40 years. Shit happens. Prenups are just a safe way to make sure neither party can vindictively hurt each other at a time when emotions are understandably high.
