I believe it's technically only legal because they have like police presence to control the scene if it ever goes awry I've been in that sea of people before tbh, which was like 2018 or so b4 pandemic (lmao still got sick after going there). The pictures showed the utter worst of it, but it mostly happens at the beginning and in a fairly big area. The smell is surprisingly not that bad because people hadn't had the time to sweat yet, and the area is intensely air conditioned Honestly the worst is the line. They really don't have any options for a bigger indoor area. They are already in the biggest convention center in California. Had no problem moving around, and artist alley will always be the worst of it. As for the fire marshall closing entrances...I don't really know what was up with that. Again, must've happened really early in the day (opened at 10, I got there around noon) so maybe I missed it but yeah. And yes. There are doors to get in from the parking structure, as well as side doors to get in closer to LA Live.
