as far as the Disney company is concerned Goofy has a son, Max and refuse to say anything about wither or not his mother, goofy's wife or girlfriend is dead, left the family or even exists. It's most likely because Max, then named Goofy Jr was from the era of giving the old characters a random Son characters as a self insert for young children, such as Spike of Tom and Jerry having a son yet never seeing or mentioning his mother, Looney Tunes's Sylvester Cat having a son Sylvester Jr and Scooby Doo almost having a son before they decided to make him his nepthew instead, Scrappy doo. Unless there's a major outcry for an explanation or desire to see Goofy's wife/Max's mother from the public at large, and since Max isn't exactly a popular or desired character among Goofy fans who never watched or cared to watch Goof Troop and the movies I doubt there will ever be an answer or resolution to this.

As for Clarabelle herself she's apart of a the minor disney characters who on paper is a friend of Minnie's and the girlfriend of Horace Horsecollar in cartoons she tends to play bit characters through in recent years she's been depicted as Goofy's love interest more than once while Horace himself is mostly always deplicted as a stage hand or extra of some sorts. So perhaps one day Clarabelle will officially be on the same level of irrelivent love interest as Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck are. Still, how funny is it that Horace got NTR'd because of how irreverent he is
