I can vouch for Half in the Bag as being decent content. Its not just drivel, or schlock as theyd call it. 54 minutes is a long video but you dont have to watch it- just listening will suffice. The visuals arent important.

Problem is they have always done this shit. Anything even slightly profitable gets driven into the ground. The 90's movies, Straight To Video tapes, and TV shows back then. They've always done this. And then just keep gobbling up new franchises to keep up profits before those get ruined too.

Will never understand why people had a problem with aliens in a world where multiple religions are proven to have actual merit and magic artifacts exist.

Logically you're right but it just feels like a bit of a genre shift. Ancient historical artifacts based in religious mythology is one genre. Sci-fi green boys probing people's butts is another. This felt like a shift from one to the other.

Warhammer somehow manage to do both.

This, it's a bit of a switch. I'm not against aliens in theory. They just didn't do a good job with Crystal Skull.

IMO it was WAY better than the drivel that was Crystal Skull. Anybody who thinks that mess was better is on drugs.

Half in the Bag / Re:Views are nice to have on in the background when you're playing a grindy section of a game or doing anything else that doesn't require full concentration.

Having said that, I'm interested in seeing Dial whenever it comes out on home viewing, so I'll probably skip this one for now due to spoilers.

If it helps, picture the aliens as representing scientology to fit the religious theme of the other movies. It was the only way I could keep myself from driving my car off a road after watching crystal skull.

A few years ago I would have said that at least these actors getting old meant they can't keep doing these sequels forever, but thanks to the latest and greatest advances in generative AI I think we can look forward to Disney digitally exhuming the corpses of our favorite stars for decades to come.

Best of the Worst and review are great

I've heard Dial of Destiny was actually kinda good, though I suppose comparing it to the last one it's kinda easy to make that claim.

They gave a fair review. The movie wasnt that bad.

I didn't even have a problem with the refrigerator. It made sense given the time period the movie is set since it's a reference to what people thought could protect you from the blasts back then.

Like the airplane raft in ToD, the fridge-nuking was one of those ludicrous one-off moments that I was willing to look past if the rest of the movie delivered (funny that both happen roughly around the same time in their respective runtimes). And in Crystal Skull's defense, the first half of the movie delivered. That second half, though...*phew*. Crystal Skull came out during a time when I was just starting to get sick of fake, silly, over-the-top CGI action sequences, and boy was that second half an overdose of that crap.

Definitely. Red Letter Media content is great, well-informed and the chaps are hilarious.

I feel like I'm one of 10 people online who never really cared that much for Indiana Jones to begin with. I mean, I recently watched Raiders, and while I enjoyed some aspects of it, I can't help but feel it's massively overrated.

I think nostalgia is a huge part of it. I was a young kid when it came out, and i have vague memories of my parents renting a VCR and this is the movie I had to watch. Not sure why, but I suspect it was because Han Solo was on the cover and I was really into star wars. Both franchises got linked together in my brain as being favorites to my young mind for being so different to what I normally saw on tv.

The best thing to come out of this was a new Indiana Jones AVGN episode.

See, I consider ToD and LC to be slightly less than perfect and Raiders to be essentially perfect

Love all 3 of the trilogy, but Raiders was the one I watched the least as a kid. I always watched TOD and LC a lot more for whatever reason. TOD is still my favorite and I think it gets crapped on unfairly.

Fuck RLM. They are the clowns that told lies about the Prequel trilogy, with BS claims that having a quiet drama scene after a hefty action scene is bad filmmaking when in fact it's a commonly used trope. They also claimed that JJ Abrams would make a better SW film than George Lucas, and since brought us the hot mess that is the Sequel trilogy. I take the Nostalgia Critic over them any day.
