So point out where did the China state that their objective was to restore the Khmer Rouge? The KR were overthrown in December 1978, while the Chinese did not invade until February 1979. The real Chinese objective was to test Soviet resolve and see if it would intervene, and it didn't.

And instead of leaving Cambodia to someone sane like King Sihanouk, the Vietnamese instead decided to occupy the country for the next decade and install puppet leaders loyal to Vietnam. There's a reason why anti-Vietnamese sentiment today in Cambodia is still strong.
