At worse, folks are going to be clocking out for bathroom breaks longer than fifteen. I'm somewhat surprised upper management hasn't already done something like that. I mean, it has to be better than switching the lights off.

I see this as a good thing. If too many employees are still there after the lights go out, it should be a signal that this company needs a better health care plan so the workers can take a trip to the cleveland clinic to diagnose and correct bowel issues.

There's no sign saying anything at my work but I'm not the only one who took long enough to shit in the work bathroom that the lights turned off so I'm stuck in the pitch black right? Right?

The way I've always seen it is I'm not paid for my commute to/from work either. That's an hour less a day of "me" time, an unpaid hour. So they might as well let me take a 5-10 minute bathroom break on their dime.
