Not surprised you never beat it. It has 103 levels. A portion of them are side levels not part of the main route. They can either be shortcuts or add to the game. It's one of the first games I got on the Genesis as a kid and played the hell out of it. Id use a Game Genie to get to the later levels and beat the final boss. I never owned it at the time but my brothers and I rented it a few times. Now I have several copies of it from the various Sega Genesis collections and "other" means. It's a really fun game. I have it on a couple of compilations, but never put much time into it. The gameplay felt a little too basic. It wasn't exactly a visual masterpiece either. I understand it has a ton of levels. Maybe they should have gone for quality over quantity. I understand somebody having nostalgia for it if they played it when they were young -- it's how I feel about Kung Fu on NES and Altered Beast for Genesis -- but it isn't very inviting for someone who has seen the best of what that generation has to offer and is forced to backtrack. If I'm going to sink a ton of time into a pre-Sonic release, it's gonna be Strider. ... Copied to Clipboard!
