Playing the pixel remasters (about to finish 2) and 7 on Switch. For PR, I really dig the multipliers for the gil/exp, and I'm glad to see you can also use a 0.5 or 0 multiplier (say you're farming a drop and won't want to level like crazy). 2 in particular has some nice options to help power level late game spells. When I first played 2, I never used Flare/Ultima/Holy since I couldn't be bothered with an insanely long grind to get those up to snuff (along with physical just being way better all around and breaking the late game with the blood sword). For FF1 I cranked up the xp after beating it to get a quick max level.

When I get to FF3, I will likely take advantage of the xp modifiers to slow leveling until I have monk "grind sessions" for max HP gain lol.

Also turning off random encounters. Great for when I just want to save or if I'm just getting sick of a dungeon with asinine encounter rates. These little things just make the replay experience more enjoyable imo.

If they ever get around to remaking Tactics, I hope this is a feature they include. Being able to play through the early chapters as more advanced jobs without over-leveling the story missions would be fantastic.

Also stopping/slowing exp can be very nice in some situations. Ideally JRPGs work like the Xenoblade games do these days where you can delevel at any point (thereby being able to retain the appropriate level for challenge regardless of side content done). I understand why that's not possible in older games with random stat gains, though.

FF2 impresses me with its three separate exp modifiers.

Did Tactics Ogre get modifiers?
