Board 8 > Recommendations for a good budget laptop?

Looking to pick one up for Prime Day. Don't need anything too strong, just looking for decent storage space and good memory/speed. Only games I'll be doing on the thing are VNs and Star Rail. I've got zero experience in the laptop space since...like 2011.

What is "Budget"

Like....under $600 during sale, so maybe retail $800 or under? I'd prefer to spend under $500 when all is said and done but if something in the 5-600 range is way better I'll take the hit.

Lenovo/Thinkpad

Yeah, I'll echo Lenovo at that price range. The Ideapad 3 is good and it looks like there's a gaming version just a bit above your price if you want to splurge.

If you want to go budget but high end, I'd sell you my Zephyrus G15 with a 3070 and Ryzen 9 for $1000, lol.

In 2019 I got a Lenovo Legion Y545 model and the fans run loud just from playing Genshin, Star Rail, or even FFXIV, which is a much older game than either of those.

Maybe it's gotten better in recent years, but I'd be a little cautious with that line. I haven't been too impressed with it but most of the time I'm doing basic stuff on it, which you don't need a high end laptop for.

There is a Zephyrus G14 for $860 with a 3060, if you live near a microcenter. Maybe Amazon will match it during prime.

Don't get a Chromebook.

I think I came out really good with extremely lucky timing. Was narrowing down options and one of my choices was the Asus Tuf 15 i5/RTX 3050 for $849. While going through reviews and such, this i7/RTX 3060 model came up with a new unit for $899, and an additional Prime Day $179 off, with only 1 unit left.

As you can see now, $1200 for a good condition used unit, compared to $770 new after tax.

Still extremely paranoid about a purchase like this, but I've quadruple checked my order to make sure I didn't miss something, and everything seems to be correct. Here's hoping!

Asus is pretty good at building gaming laptops from my experience, think you made a good choice

The last TV I purchased had a deal that lasted about 2 hours (maybe? idk lol), I just so happened to look at amazon when it was occurring. Camel Camel Camel barely even recognized that it was a thing lol
