gu-gohan 07/10/23 10:09:41 AM #5:	Personally, I distuingish between racing and sports games in the genre list of my collection manager, since I don't think that FIFA is the same genre as Mario Kart. As an "E-Sport", as video games, they can all be recognized as platforms of sport. Usually the debate I hear is whether or not Motorsports drivers, professional drivers, are athletes. As a fan of Motorsports, I'd say not necessarily. It is true that higher levels of racing require athletic conditioning - some arguably more extreme than regularball sports - but the outputting performance is largely in part of the mechanical elements/equipment beyond the human body. One trying to achieve a goal, and the other directly trying to stop them. Otherwise its just a game and/or competition. To add, it would then just open up anything that two people are doing thats being judged/timed/scored etc. into a sport. For example, its Ice Carving a Sport? Or is it just a physical activity that gets judged from time to time?
