Assassin's Creed is the biggest one for me. I freaking loved Assassin's Creed 1 and 2. Then I played Brotherhood and couldn't get motivated to play past the tutorial mission. I bought Black Flag and didn't even cut open the plastic.

Getting that way with Yakuza because of 5 being so bloated. I just want it to be over at this point so I can take a break from these games for a while.

Guitar Hero and Assassins Creed.

by the end of Y3, I was pretty much done with the series, and I haven't enjoyed an installment since Y2.

Darn bro at least try 4 before dipping, Akiyama is literally the best character. Tanimura is pretty great too.

I've beaten Y1 (original) to Y5, then Y0 & Y: LaD.

it's just that I ended up not really liking any of them outside of the first two.

I played Y3-Y5 since the PS3 barely had any games that I liked, and I played Y0 & LaD because how much people praised them.

there were characters and elements that I liked from the games, but overall, I didn't enjoy the overall titles.

Twilight Princess. There was time when a new Zelda console release was like the heavens themselves parting, but while I enjoyed TP well enough while playing it, it really sunk in afterwards that the series had become painfully stale, so much so that I could never be arsed to crack open the Skyward Sword copy I bought (and this was before I became aware of the internet's collective opinion of SS).

Thankfully A Link Between Worlds and Breath of the Wild came along and reignited my love for the series.

I dunno about "series" fatigue, but I definitely get tired of individual games that just go on and on and on that would have benefitted from ending already.

It's like a TV series that should have ended a long time ago that they just keep making more and more seasons for with ridiculous amounts of filler and a story with little remaining direction. Enough is enough.

Too many games feel like they need to pad everything out to give players more content. Not everyone wants everything to be a 100+ hour game

oh yea, I've also got to agree with Assassin's Creed.

it took me until beating AC3 before I felt series fatigue, though.

I bought other games like Black Flag and Origins, but I didn't get far into them.

Fire Emblem. Especially when they started getting away from the more grounded military campaign stories and started making time travel, chosen special boy with personal secret dimensions and dragon waifus and face touching mechanics...

Pokemon Moon

Yeah, Assassin's Creed for me as well.
I adored Black Flag, and then I just sort of stopped. I think that Unity looking like absolute shit turned me away from the series.

yup, I'm boxington/g0ldie.

I had another old account, and changed the name to this.

I'm not sure fatigue is the right word, but I've found most series are hit or miss and I'm not really interested in endless sequels anyway.

and I remember you being the one to recommend Legend of the Galactic Heroes, which is cool, from what I've seen.

I've had varying degrees of fatigue from a lot of different series over the years, but I think CoD stands out above all the others.

This, and Disgaea. I played the first one around summer 2005 and never wanted to play another since.

Assassins Creed is #1, i was done after Revelations, i powered through 3 and stopped for like 3 years...didnt do the other games til like 2015 and onward but i stopped after Syndicate...wont touch the RPGs...

right after that was Call of Duty, COD4 is amazing but i stopped after BO1...only one i played since is Modern Warfare Remastered...

yearly released franchises just dont work for me...
