Sonic Adventure has fans. It's got people laughing at the glitches and weird face animations. Music kicks ass too.
Mario 64 just has the speedrun scene propping it up even more.

MML eh who cares

the honest answer is that the former wasnt on a nintendo console and the second was a pre-oot game released five years after its psx release onto the n64

Mario 64, if you go back to it, still plays pretty decently in modern day. The only major hangup is the camera. It still feels surprisingly smooth and responsive to play, with minimal delays and a pretty versatile set of ways to move around.

Sonic Adventure and Mega Man Legends both have a good bit of jank that makes them not work as well compared to modern games.

Sonic Adventure banked too much on "cinematic" stuff that doesn't at all hold up, combined with weirdness in figuring out essential points to progress. Then on top of that there are swaths of it that play very differently at best and don't feel good to play at all at worst, namely the Knuckles and Big scenarios.

Mega Man Legends controls weren't designed to work with two sticks, and would have done a lot better with manual aiming. It doesn't feel good to play compared to modern games with a similar focus, with that being its primary issue.

All three still have fans though and plenty of people with nostalgia for them. It's just harder for people to go back to the two that don't have as much love.

Because they arent as good as Mario 64, nor did they set the bar for a new type of gameplay like Mario 64

Used to play MML on the N64. I think will get a port of those two some day.
