The panel at the bottom of the screen is really hot, I can't even keep my finger on the plastic before it starts burning me. The TV is kinda old, should I be worried for a potential fire hazard?

Yeah I'm worried it might melt the plastic or something, but when I look online some sources say they get hotter as TVs get older and its normal whilst I'm seeing others complaining of this too with their TVs.

I would be worried about a fire hazard for sure. If it was me, I just find a replacement as soon as possible.

Yeah I might do this, a shame since I'm just towards the end of FF16 >_>

Gonna do a bit more research then find a TV online, Amazon is having a prime sale...

True, perfect time to tv shop. I think the best tv for gaming is the LG C2 if it is in your budget range.

i've got a Dell monitor from the early 2010s that does that, it's expected. Problem with all fluorescents. The backlight is wearing out and it has to push more current through to keep it on, it'll also take longer and longer to reach full brightness from a cold start.

If you're really paranoid about it then you could try blasting the vents with compressed air stuff and stick some airflow behind it, even one of those bendy USB fans plugged directly into the back of it would work

Hmm I'll give this a try tomorrow before I buy a new TV, thanks.

If thats the case, then I've been using it for a year with this problem. Its only recently I've noticed it because I dropped something near the panel and realized how hot it was!

Well the good news is you already know replacing it is an option, but yeah that sounds a bit sus. It's possible they were just harvesting spare bulbs from other broken screens

Hahahaha hence why I said if it's in your budget range hahaha

Did some research myself and this seems to be the best budget gaming tv. Though I don't know how well TCL is as a brand. It does have good reviews.

It's no longer good as a television, but it is good as an anime super attack

This Sony TV of mine is burning red!
It's loud roar tells me to grasp victory!
