The pilot of a TV show called SOAP came under my radar while I was browsing YouTube. I gave it a watch and that shit is full of all types of raunchy shit guised as a comedy show. In the very first episode they admit murder, racism, adultery, a kid being horny, homophobia. This was the shit boomers watched and yet they're all riled up with the dumb shit we have in modern entertainment media?

It's funny you say that because Soap was very controversial at the time for the exact things you listed and many people complained.

I'll always love the episode of golden girls where Blanche says she's fine with her brother being gay but she doesn't think he should date men and Dorothy had to explain that's what being gay is.

I know that's not raunchy but blanches character usually was so I thought about it.

The difference is, those were drawn to be the obvious love interest for the character.

My dad loved South Park and The Simpsons, we watched it together all the time. Parents watched all the real offensive comedians on HBO also. It was a non-religious household though, they were never the "Jesus will see you sin!" kind of crazies.

What boomers are you even talking about? Did you cherrypick a couple ultra-religious ones or something? Culture has largely been the same for decades. You had your boomers appalled by any sexuality, language, violence, etc. and you had your boomers that pushed the envelope as far as they could with sex and violence and language, partly why we have stricter ratings systems now and explicit labels on music. Just like today you have your online woke puritans that *cringe* if a woman wears a bikini in a video game and others that want uncensored fan service.

In the context of modern times I believe. Even those open-minded boomers of the past often are either not as acceptive of modern media or have become more conservative through time. That's of course not something exclusive to boomers. I'm starting to notice the same even for millennials that were formerly more liberal becoming more conservative and shocked by stuff that were commonplace in their times too. Of course, millennials have an advantage by starting off more liberal in the first place and of course this also doesn't apply to everyone.
